Jewelry Workshop Description:
This is a workshop you shouldn’t miss whether you are a beginner or not.
ONE BEAD EMBROIDERY PROJECT: Students will be able to make/design their own personal bead embroidered pendant/earrings/cuff utilizing cabochons and many other elements such as beads, a variety of crystals and ultra suede/leather. Kits in two different colors will be available.
ONE MACRAME EXPLORATION PROJECT: Students will be able to make their own bracelet, ankle bracelet, or necklace using macrame techniques. You will learn basic knots and how to incorporate beads and/or cabochon to make beautiful jewelry. You will use a polyester waxed cord like the ones used by many artisans in South America.
About Marjorie Barnes:
Marjorie Barnes is a Venezuelan jewelry designer and instructor.
She has been working with a variety of techniques, including metalsmithing, Precious Metal Clay, and beading for nearly 30 years. Her current passion, after studying the techniques of Sherry Serafini, is bead embroidery. Marjorie has been teaching Mathematics and Jewelry Design for the past 22 years in the US.
