A real yoga retreat is much more than just taking the time to go explore on a yoga vacation. It can be a time to find a spiritual awakening and make an effort to rise to a new state of awareness. Some tips for choosing the right yoga retreat are:

  • Finding a supportive environment-find the retreat that offers you the perfect destination and atmosphere that you need to feel safe and allow yourself to completely dive in.
  • Prepare for your retreat-be rested before you leave to go and be open to a new adventure. Think about what you hope to accomplish while away.
  • Leave your worries behind-as soon as you step out of the door at home make sure to leave what worries you have there. Be open to allowing your mind to focus on positive energy.
  • Add some variety-while at your yoga retreat make sure to participate in all that is offered. Prayer, meditation, yoga, journal writing, reading and excursions. Make your own agenda as you go along.

Some of the best yoga retreats are designed to be the ideal time for your personal reflection, quiet surroundings and a communion with Nature.
