Participating in an actual class session is always beneficial but if that does not fit into your schedule you can learn these poses and philosophy through videos. Power yoga poses can be more difficult to learn so some people find working with a yoga teacher more beneficial in the beginning. Once you have mastered the poses you can work from home or a private location.

For the most part, learning the Baptiste Yoga poses is simply a matter of practice and time. There are many poses that are practiced while standing. These types of poses require you to hold your body weight in different positions such as lunges, straddles or even sometimes balancing on one foot. These poses will help you develop the leg muscles and make you more flexible in your yoga practice.

Yoga teacher training goes over the poses and helps modify for best results. Some power yoga poses require strong balance and some even require you to hold a foot with one hand while standing on the other. The balance poses from yoga teaching require concentration along with strength to be held in a comfortable stand with concentration.

Baptiste Yoga is also practiced on the floor uses your hands and feet at the same time. There are also many yoga poses that are done while lying down on the mat in different positions. Poses

Baptiste Yoga practices yoga through vinyasas which are flowing postures where breath fuels your movements and connects your mind to your body. Some of the more common poses are listed here:

Samasthiti-Basic Standing Position is a yoga posture that will allow you to find balance in your body. It distributes your weight evenly on both sides.

Surya Namaskara-Sun Salute is a great opening stretch during your warm up series that helps to stimulate, stretch and wake up your body, mind and heart.

Static Squat is a yoga posture that will help you to concentrate and focus your attention while your strengthen and improve your back, legs, calves and thighs.

Chair pose will improve and strengthen your muscles in your legs, thighs while you gain flexibility and tone your upper arms, shoulders and lower spine area.

Salabhasan-Locust pose helps tone and strengthen your back and abdominal area while toning up your hips and buttocks.

Dekasana- airplane pose helps you develop balance, concentration, and stamina while you shape and strengthen your legs, hips, back shoulders, chest, upper arms and neck.

Eka Pada Rajakapotasana-the Pigeon pose stretches and releases the hips and legs while you relax the inner thigh muscles.

Chandrasana-the crescent lunge pose is a lunge with a backward bend that will strengthen, tone and stretch the body while it gives a gentle and healthy squeeze to the colon.

Adho Mukha Savasana-Downward facing dog pose is great for stretching and strengthening the spine, hamstrings, calves and shoulders. This pose increases blood flow to the brain and stimulates metabolism. This is a great pose for building concentration.

Abdominal Toning-Belly burners are a series of poses to tone and strengthen and help define the muscles in the abdomen and back region.

Setu Bandha Sarvangasana- Half Bridge pose will open the chest and shoulders while keeping the spine elastic. This pose nourishes the brain and thyroid gland with fresh blood flow helping with metabolism.

Urdhva Dhanurasana-the full bridge pose will strengthen the buttock and thigh muscles. You will be stretching and strengthening your abdominal muscles, hips and increases flexibility. Your arms and back will gain strength.

Breathing in deeply while practicing your yoga helps oxygenate the blood in your body and feed your muscles. This helps organize the energy and concentration. Baptiste yoga teaching guides you to strengthen your body and mind while waking up your spirit.
