Guest Yoga Teacher Jessie Migneault
Having worked in broadcasting for two years, Jessie turned to yoga to de-stress from the competitive industry. At first it was a way to calm her mind, then in turn, it helped ease her lower back pain which she was struggling with for many years. A switch in her career path then led her to work for lululemon athletica, a yoga-based apparel company. One of the perks of working for lululemon was complimentary fitness at affiliate studios. Jessie took advantage of this, and was practicing yoga about 4-5 times a week. Through this program, she built amazing relationships within the community and decided that since she loved yoga so much, why not teach it!
Jessie completed her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification with Downward Dog Yoga Centre in 2009. She trained along side Ron Reid, Diane Bruni, Marla Joy and David Bruni. Her training did not stop there! She continued to dive into many workshops and also completed her Kids Yoga and Pre/Post Natal Teacher Training with Yoga Sanctuary.
For three years, Jessie worked along side Trish Stratus, a Canadian fitness Icon and 7-time WWE wrestling champion. She was studio director and manager of her studio, Stratusphere – Canada’s largest yoga studio. Yoga is her passion and as two time alumni lululemon athletica ambassador, all she wants is to offer this service to others in hopes they feel and find the same benefits it had for her. For Jessie, yoga is a never-ending learning process and she will continue to educate herself for years to come.
In the future, Jessie plans to visit India, yoga’s birthplace, and travel the world to experience other unique cultures.
