Yoga Practice

Start your morning with a mindful, slow vinyasa practice to cultivate inner peace while invigorating the body. Each class will begin with meditation, Sanskrit chant and breathing practices (pranayama). Michelle will then guide you through a gentle warm-up sequence preparing your body for an uplifting practice that will heat and awaken your body. During this morning practice, you will discover “awareness of sensation” while exploring your physical “edge”. This all-level, uplifting practice will conclude with a nourishing guided relaxation, the perfect balance to an invigorating practice setting the tone for an amazing day.

The evening yoga class will be a deeply nourishing and gentle practice featuring restorative yoga to ease you into the end of your day. This class includes poetry readings and optional aroma inhalation of CPTG essential oils to further facilitate relaxation and inner peace. What a perfect way to rejuvenate at the end of your day.

Guest Yoga Teacher Michelle Davis

Michelle Davis Yoga TeacherMichelle Davis has practiced yoga for more than 25 years. Over the past 17 years, she has taught yoga classes, workshops, retreats and has assisted yoga teacher trainings in New Hampshire, Vermont, California, and Guatemala. She is currently leading yoga classes and workshops at her day spa in Keene, NH. Michelle discovered yoga at the age of sixteen when she became curious about different world religions and astrology. Michelle started her yoga journey at age 23 while she was pregnant with her daughter, Amber. Her yoga practice benefitted her physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being and it deepened her connection with her baby.

Michelle earned her 200 hour YTT certification from Kripalu School of Yoga in 2003 as part of an independent study to complete her B.A in theatre and dance. Since 2003 she has received her 500, 800 and 1,000 hour YTT from The School Yoga Institute. Michelle has cultivated an eclectic teaching style; a combination of the classical teachings of yoga as well as a modern perspective on healthy body movement and alignment. Her teaching style helps students relax and release into the yoga pose so their postures become effortless.

Michelle owns Essential Wellness Holistic Day Spa where she works as a licensed Esthetician, Reiki II Practitioner (Usui Tradition) and teaches yoga. She is also certified Essential Oil Coach and leads healing and transformative  workshops using essential oils with chakras, meridians and yoga postures. Michelle first learned of Anamaya from her daughter who has spent two college spring break trips renewing and healing herself at this magical place. Michelle will travel to Montezuma, Costa Rica for the first time to share her passion for yoga, love of life and meet each of you. Michelle’s Philosophy

Michelle incorporates classical yoga philosophy in an upbeat and inspiring style to support the individual needs of her students. Her background in modern dance influenced her ability to create unique posture sequences while cultivating a joyous class vibe. She believes that yoga is a transformative practice with the ability to enhance greater well-being. The jovial energy she exudes helps students feel deeply nourished, supported and inspired during their yoga practice. It is her intention to create space for transformation and healing in the world through yoga instruction and her healing arts practices.

Michelle has taught yoga to a diverse age of students ranging from preschool to adults. The variety of classes she leads are gentle, restorative and invigorating. She also enjoys teaching beginner yoga workshops. Michelle believes a consistent yoga practice is integral to a happy, healthy and balanced life. She encourages her students to find ways to incorporate yoga into their busy lifestyles. Michelle’s safe and inspiring classes help students challenge themselves to explore new boundaries while maintaining mindful awareness of sensation without going behind their edge. Michelle believes that when we pause to feel the posture our experience on the mat helps us rediscover our radiant Self.

Moon Salutation, Chandra Namaskar

You have probably heard of Sun Salutations, but have you heard of Moon Salutations? Join Michelle to learn this sequence featuring lunges, squats, twists, and triangles. The Moon Salutation will open you up to honoring the great feminine energy of the moon within your body as you stretch and explore this lunar vinyasa sequence. Embrace the dance of surrender and release into this specialized sequence sure to challenge your strength and flexibility while learning how to cultivate inner stillness and santosha (contentment). This 60 minute workshop is $20.

Spring Renewal Vision Board Workshop

Rediscover your seeds of intention as you shed the heavier, darker qualities of winter. The winter season is a time for inner reflection and deeper rest; a time of stillness. Winter is a seasonal rhythm that connects us with our roots. Spring is a time of rebirth, new life, light, and joy. Spring is our seasonal rhythm for expansion, transformation, and resurrection. This creative workshop blends the holistic practice of yoga with intuitive awareness and artistic expression. Featuring a gentle aroma yoga and guided relaxation practice. You will cultivate inner peace and facilitate personal growth.

Michelle will guide you through two invigorating breathing practices to facilitate an awareness of your higher self, increase energy, and awaken your senses. During this workshop, you will learn how to harness the energy of the spring season, use essential oils to facilitate energetic shifts within the body and use creative practices (vision boards) to transform into a lighter, brighter more awakened version of yourself.

Includes 3 personal mini roller bottles of essential oil blends to use for at home practice to support transformation. *More custom blends are available per request. This 2-hour workshop is $48.
